All clinical faculty in the department are members of the Hamilton Regional Laboratory Medicine Program (HRLMP), the primary provider of laboratory services to Hamilton Health Sciences and St. Joseph’s Healthcare. The Hamilton Regional Lab Medicine Program is one of the largest lab programs in Canada, where scope and specialization synthesize to deliver world class care for patients, fuel research, and develop the next generation of leaders. Or more simply stated, where life meets science.

Dr. Vina Alexopoulou is a Professor of Pathology and Molecular Medicine and a practicing Surgical Pathologist with special interest in Renal Pathology and medical diseases of the kidney. She has published several papers in Renal Pathology, including transplantation.  Well-known Renal Pathologist throughout Canada who has been working as a consultant for several nephrology units and conducts educational workshops for trainee pathologists and nephrologists locally, nationally and around the world. As the Associate Chair of Clinical Services, supports the Academic Department in the co-ordination of clinical faculty member’s activities in order to advance the academic mission of the Department of Pathology and Molecular Medicine.
